Guide Dogs

Following on from Guide Dogs recent rebrand there was a requirement to produce new hero brand images that championed people with sight loss, staff, volunteers and of course dogs! The challenge was to capture a collection of portraits whilst avoiding the subject matter feeling isolated and alone. It was important that the images could be integrated with their new pastel coloured secondary palette.

My approach was to shoot in a studio environment so I could isolate the subject and add colour later in post, it also meant we could shoot at a high F stop to capture as much detail as possible. Keeping myself low to the floor in order to champion the importance of the subject, I worked with my assistant to disarm each person before capturing the moment. The result is a portfolio which far from being isolated embues a sense of charm and confidence in each person highlighting their abilities as opposed to disabilities.
