Orchestre de Paris

One of the oldest orchestra’s in France, is undergoing a bit of a revolution. The signing of a new musical director Paavo Jarvi and a move to a new architecturally radical home Philharmonie de Paris the orchestra was keen to make this years season brochure tie in with its new inspirational image.

Of course, with a rebrand being a little way off they wanted to stick within their current brand guidelines but push them much further. We convinced them to use a different cut of their classic ‘Didot’ typeface. The Hoefler Type Foundry version has been been drawn at multiple sizes that retain the delicate parts of the font when scaled up. This allowed us to apply it in a fresh freeform manner that retains both their heritage and legacy.
