Public Digital
Public Digital is a team of exceptionally intelligent individuals, many of whom graduated with Firsts from Oxbridge and have gone on to achieve great things in the public sector. Its founders spearheaded the transformation of over a hundred government websites into the boldly typographic ‘gov.org,’ earning a prestigious D&AD black pencil in the process. They established Public Digital with the same singular approach: distinctly black and white, and letting the weight of their words do the rest. Fast forward, and their success has led to exponential growth both in the UK and markets overseas. The inexorable pace of digital change, coupled with a global audience, now requires them to produce an order of magnitude more documents across multiple languages, rendering their current design no longer fit for purpose.
We collaborated closely with their founders to create a brand that would support the important messages they have to convey. We enabled a better reading experience through the use of ‘light black’ and ‘dark white,’ along with a set of matte colours. The font ‘LL Brown’ sets a warm conversational tone, and, where appropriate, their words are supported by geometric super graphics that aid differentiation and add further meaning.
